A hiking party pushed the odds today. In Siphon Draw, a popular day hiking area in the Superstition Mountains, temperatures exceed 100 and the dew point is 40 degrees. Hyperthermia set in as they reached the waterfall area with no more water.
Fortunately there is cell service there and a 911 call was made. While rescuers were en route another party shared water. The team stood down as the hikers made it out on their own.
